The tour starts from Marrakech, a city of immediate charm,  having as main leit-motivs the architecture made of “pisè” (mud mixed with straw), the immense spaces, the mountains, the villages and the big dunes , and ending on the Atlantic sea-coast of Essaouira and its white houses.

Day 1 – Marrakesh

Arrival at Marrakech. Pick up your  car at the airport, and drive  to the “riad” in the city. Accommodation and free dinner . The animated city streets probably will attract you to have a dinner in the fabulous square Jema- el- Fna, meeting point of the whole city.

Day 2 - Marrakesh

Breakfast. Marrakech is one of the imperial cities, the city loved by all Moroccans for its temperate climate and beauty. Here there is an animated medina, the elegant tower of Koutoubia, palaces and residences decorated with stucco and polychrome ceramics, all surrounded by the  High Atlas mountains. But above all, you will be enchanted by the square Jema-el-Fna, the Moroccan “place” for excellence. A square that is almost insignificant in the day,  it becomes in the evening totally  another place. Stands where you can buy local food,  fortune– tellers,  musicians, snake charmers, story tellers.
An explosion of energy and colours, where life is renewed in an ideal contrast to the desert emptiness that lies few kilometers  southward. Free dinner and lunch. Overnight stay in Riad.

Ouarzazate

Day 3 - High Atlas, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Kasbah Taourirt, Ouarzazate;

Breakfast. From Marrakech, you will drive up to the High Atlas mountains passing through a spectacular pass at 2000 mts,  while  the mountains all around can reach  4000 mts. Once you crossed on the other side of the mountain, you will make detour to visit the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou. Located on a cliff , the village is full of  Kasbha, almost twenty, interconnected and dominated by a mighty fortress with crenellated towers. In short time you’ll reach the town of Ouarzazate, where you can visit the imposing Kasbah Taourirt, a mighty fortress, whose centre stands the royal palace of Glaoui,  one of the Marrakech Pasha. Lunch and  dinner at your hotel in Ouarzazate.

Day 4 - Skoura, Boumalne, Dades canyon

Breakfast. Start driving eastward , parallel to the Atlas chain, towards  the town of Skoura , from where you will follow  the gorgeous Valley of the Dades river, dotted with fantastic ksur, fortified clay villages with decorated facades.  Born from the High Atlas,  the river (“ouadi”) Dades nourish of series of oasis, dotted with incredible kasbah in the narrow valley that winds between the dizzying canyon walls.  You will sleep in a hotel in the valley enjoying its unique panorama. Free lunch. Dinner at the hotel.

Draa River Valley

Day 5 - Agdz, Draa valley, Zagora

Breakfast. More mountains today: you will pass the Jebel Sarhro with its rock formations eroded by the wind in bizarre forms, and visit the town of Agdz and its marvelous kasbah. You’ll  continue in the Draa River valley. Born in the High Atlas, the river laboriously digs its bed and then opens into a valley that is a fantastic  succession of  shrine ksur,  fortified clay villages with decorated facades , and ends up in the oasis of Zagora. You  are now at the northern limit of the Sahara Desert, a few miles southward the real desert begins, the golden sand announcing it. Lunch and dinner at  Zagora hotel .

Day 6 - Zagora, Mahmid, Zagora

Breakfast. The day will be dedicated to the escursion in the desert to the oasis of M'Hamid, the desert gate, surrounded by dunes, an ancient Saharian meeting point where camel caravans arrived from the mytical  Timbuctu or other black Africa regions. In the evening you’ will drive back to Zagora. Free lunch. Dinner at the hotel.

Taroudant

Day 7 - Zagora, Agdz, Taliouline, Taroudant

Breakfast. Your direction today is northwards,  on a narrow and highly spectacular road among rocks  eroded by the wind , whose colors vary from ocher to red. Let’s stop at Taliouline, center of saffron production, whose harvest is traditionally made by hand . You will visit the saffron farm where you can buy the precious spice, in highest purity and quality. Then you’ll arrive at Taroudant , surrounded by ancient beautiful cobbled walls. Have a nice walk in  this interesting town where you can appreciate the peaceful rythm of the province life. Accommodation in your hotel. Free lunch, free dinner.

Taroudant

Day 8 - Taroudant, Essaouira;

Breakfast. Today you will arrive on the coast, at Agadir, a quite crowded city that you’ll leave at your back choosing the quiet Essaouira,  lying on a long beach north of Agadir, surrounded by ancient fortified walls, characterized by  white houses with blue windows, that will enchant you.  Acommodation in your hotel . Free lunch and dinner .

Essaouira

Day 9 - Essaouira;

Breakfast. Relaxing day  to enjoy the sun, the beach and the excellent fresh, local food offered . Free lunch and dinner . Overnight at your hotel.

Day 10 - Marrakech Airport

Breakfast. Transfer to Marrakech airport where you will return your car and get your flight.
